چکیده
| January 2014 | 81 Considering the effect of hyperglycemia causing negative eff ect on bone formation and infl ammatory eff ects in T2DM patients, which may result in reduced osseointegration and higher failure rate of dental implants, we hypothesize that RSV may reduce dental implant failure rate by having stimulating bone formation and anti-infl ammatory eff ects. It seems that induction of RSV either by systemic or local delivery can improve osseointegration of dental implant in T2DM patients, further studies are deserved to prove our hypothesis.

The Effect Of Restoration Type On Osseointegration of Dental Implants: A Histological Analysis In Dogs
Background and Objective: The concept of immediate occlusal loading with dental implants offers several advantages. In this research, the effect of type of restoration on Osseointegration rate of dental implants was histologically evaluated. Materials and Methods: Three months prior to implantation, the lower premolar teeth of 15 dogs were extracted. Then, 3 to 4 Maestro™ implants were plac...
متن کاملEffects of diabetes on the osseointegration of dental implants.
The increased prevalence of diabetes mellitus has become a public health problem. Hyperglycaemia entails a rise in the morbidity and mortality of these patients. Although a direct relationship with periodontal disease has already been shown, little is known about the results of dental implants in diabetics. The present paper reviews the bibliography linking the effect of diabetes on the osseoin...
متن کاملRisk Factors and Early Survival Rate of Biomet 3i Dental Implants. A Retrospective Study
Introdouction: Although highly desirable outcomes and longterm survival of dental implant treatments are well documented, implant failures still occur due to various reasons. Several risk factors may impair implant survival including implant dimensions (length, diameter, and implant design), procedures, local bone density at the implant site, and patient-related risk factors such as age, smokin...
متن کاملSemaphorin 3A-modified adipose-derived stem cell sheet may improve osseointegration in a type 2 diabetes mellitus rat model
Although titanium (Ti) implants are considered to be an optimal choice for the replacement of missing teeth, it remains difficult to obtain sufficient osseointegration in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The present study aimed to investigate whether adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) may be used to improve Ti implant osseointegration in T2DM conditions with the addition of semapho...
متن کاملDental implants in the diabetic patient: a retrospective study.
It has become increasingly common for controlled diabetic patients to be considered as candidates for dental implants. This study reports on the results of placing implants in 34 patients with diabetes who were treated with 227 Brånemark implants. At the time of second-stage surgery, 214 of the implants had osseointegrated, a survival rate of 94.3%. Only one failure was identified among the 177...
